Fun Run
As for the traditional fun run, this year it has special significance. The run is sponsored by the Ephraim Youth City Council, which uses the event as its kick-off fundraiser to help support various service projects throughout the year. This year, the council has selected as its theme, “Healthy Hearts in the Heart of Utah.” The run will feature two race lengths: the 5K for the easy going and the 10K for the die-hards. The run isn’t just for runners--People are always welcome to come and walk. Registration for the run will start at 7 a.m. at the Ephraim Co-op, 96 N. Main. There is a $10 entry fee and all participants will receive a t-shirt after they turn in their number. Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female finishers in each race.

Co-ed softball tournament
Teams need to consist at least as many females as males, with a minimum of 10 people and a maximum of 14. The cost to register a team is $175, and registrations need to be received no later than Wednesday, May 21. There are only 16 spots available, which Larsen expects will fill up quickly. Games will be played on Saturday, May 24, and prizes will be awarded to the top three teams. The first-place team will receive windbreakers, the second-place team will get messenger bags, and the third-place team will get water bottles.

Danish Ball for the kids
There will also be fun for the kids with “Danish Ball,” a game something like Cricket, while the adults play softball. The game is played with a ball made from yarn wrapped around a rubber core. There isn’t even a need for mitts. And don’t worry if you don’t know about Danish Ball or Cricket. We’ll show you how to play.
